The Governing Body of Paulton Infant School have placed adverts on TES (the Times Educational Supplement On-line version) and the B&NES’ website seeking applications for a new permanent Headteacher following the retirement of Mrs Sloyan at the end of last academic year.
Garry Yoxall, Chair of Governors, explained: “We were all sad to say our final goodbyes to Mrs. Sloyan after her 17 successful years at the helm. Naturally this creates a challenge for Governors to find the best replacement, however, we are highly confident of doing so. This is an exciting time and the school is well placed to attract the best candidates because of the fantastic facilities, staff and reputation we have to offer – not to mention 200 plus eager and willing learners! We are being assisted by B&NES in the process and have acted as quickly as possible to ensure we fill the position as soon as we are able to. We are legally compelled to undertake a “fair selection process” and by advertising in TES, as well as through the Local Authority, we hope to have a good standard of applicants from all sources.”.
Selected candidates will face a potential 2 day interview process, including being interviewed by the Children’s School Council and the interview panel will include at least one Parent Governor to ensure pupil and parents/carers are represented in the process.
