Year 2 Statutory Assessment (SATs)
Statutory Assessments
In Year 2, at the end of Key Stage 1, children are assessed in reading, writing and maths using a range of tests, tasks and teacher judgements. These take place throughout the month of May. The outcomes of teacher assessments are reported to the Department for Education and to parents/carers in the Summer Term as part of their annual report.

We do try not to cause any undue anxiety for our children about this and refer to them as 'quizzes' rather than tests. A lot of work in class and their weekly homework has already prepared them for this.

Please follow the link here to a short video clip on the DFE website for parents about SATs.

Below are some useful information and guides for parents about SATs.

The information in this additional leaflet taken from the schoolrun.com linked here is also really helpful - although dated 2022 the information is still relevant to this year.
